Default airborn batts

New to gliders--have power experience -- Plan on piggy-back
2m Spirit with .46 Telemaster....questions: JR 700 RX with 31oz
mini servos OK? How about batts---270 or 500 mah? and about
how long normal use could expect if use 270? Anything to really
watch for using these combinations?? No glider clubs for miles&
miles&miles.........not even any glider pilots out here that"know
it all". Am new to this site(as well as this kinda flying), but sure
learning bunches from this forum.. Thanks for any help.

Default Spirit 2- meter

In the Spirit, use the largest battery that fits and give the aproximate recommended CG and still needs an ounce or two of nose weight. You may need to remove some nose weight and reduce the decalage to trim the Spirit properly. The CG should be adjusted to give the minimum stability that you can fly comfortably and the decalage adjusted to give the desired trimmed airspeed (stall margin). If you are an experienced pilot you may be able to put the CG a little aft of the recommended range. With this CG location, the decalage will probably need to be reduced about 0.75 degrees (1/8 inch at the wing trailing edge). Start with the recommended CG and reduce it 1/4 ounce at a timeand retrim between flights untill you get it the way you want it. The maximum elevator throw may need to be reduced to plus or minus 3/16 or so as the pitch response increases. In this trim condition the Spirit will indicate lift much better than in the stock trim.

The mini servos will have plenty of power in this application.
