Default Hanglider Hill in Bakersfield, CA?

Anyone familiar with this spot? I didn't have much luck there the past 2 days, and I think it might be because the prevailing winds were more west than north, and the hill faces more north than west. Any tips for sloping from this spot, or perhaps good times of the year? I am new to slope soaring and am on my own. It's a pretty hairy spot btw, 350 ft. hill, 45 degree slope, in some places steeper. Nice view, though...
