Towline help please
I've just started aerotowing and am just using about 100 foot of nylon string for the tow rope right now. The glider I'm flying is a 157" DG-300 and the tow plane is a Robin Hood 99. What is the best stuff to use for a tow line and how long, bungee or not. Thanks, Jeff

Check this out for a lot of info;

Folks like to use 1/4 thick line. Not for strength, but rather visibility.

Towline help please
I tow a scale Waco glider behind a ziroli C-47, see pics at www.sarasota.com under Air Fair 2002, we use 150 feet of yellow string, with 18 inches of bungie to absorb shock.I wouldn't recomend 1/4 inch line because of weight You can attach a piece of bright ribbon to each end for visibility.I hope you have a release on the tow plane as well.
