RE: lateral balance
Put some blocks under the wings to limit the distance the wings can drop. You want it to be able to move only 1/8" or so. Now add just enough weight to the right wing tip to bring the left wing up. This will tell you how much out of balance the plane is. You have to have the plane in a room where the air is still.
Hopefully, you haven't covered the plane yet. It's much easier to fix this before covering.
If it's only a little, you may be able to remove some material from the tip block on the left wing. Just hollow out the inside of the tip block by cutting through the end rib, or drilling into the bottom. If that doesn't cure it, you can add some lead to the right tip.
A plane with lateral imbalance will have to be trimmed with rudder offset to fly straight. That adds drag. It won't signal lift as well, either.
