The same Cemech motor in the testbed CAP 232 parkflyer I just ordered, will later be proven or disproven as the power assist motor for my new Jantar...still awaiting said Jantar 2400 from Lenger Modellbau. The CAP sits in my workroom, silent testiment to 480 motor and gearbox, proven insufficient.
The plan is to power up the CAP and take thrust measurements and real world performance observations from the Python 200 motor.
The Jantar is a slope or thermal glider...in other words...allrounder. It's scale and lovely. My flying sites are few...inner suburban sites simply put...accessable to me. Good flying sites are simply inaccessable. The solution, is winch, cumbersome, or a lightweight power assist.
I will find and post.
Ultimately the journey leads to my 4 meter Discus. Significant cost to weight factor. Keeping the ultimate cost of flying a dream ship under 400 dollars. Unheard of in the realm of Scale Sailpanes. Many modellers have the same difficulty as I do. Not Enough Moolah.
Prices of technology decrease. I propose an solution to beat the ticking clock of technology by careful choice. My choices are based on two things. Necessity ( the mother of invention ) and efficiency.
The fun of this journey is within the journey from CAP to Discus...in a word...Jantar 2400...
