New to gliders (....help?)

Hi all,
I've been flying glow planes for a few months now. I have really been spoiled with the field and the time to get there and fly every weekday since October. BUT ALAS, my winter slow period is over and I will soon be unable to take the time at the field (dang-it).
I work on farms and ranches all over southern CA. About 90% of the ground is slopes, hills, cliffs and there is always a breeze...well, almost always.
Do any of you have advice on a VERY durable glider to start with?
It must be able to withstand the abuse of being in my truck all the time, and I am not opposed to an electric motor of some kind. I have some Li-Po's and a couple speed controls, but I have never flown electric.
I was thinking of a Zagi or Weasel. Are these hard to fly? Could a glow guy get into soaring without too much trouble?
ANY advice or suggestions would be helpful.

If slope is your desire and you've got enough time under your belt to fly the trainer on your own then one of the EPS slopers would probably be a nice start to all this. I can't suggest anything specific but I can confirm that you're on the right track. A Zagi with the controls set to be less sensitive for the first while would be a fine option. Just be sure to get some suggestions on a good less sensitive setting. Most of the guys that fly them are hotshots and figure everyone else is too. In a pinch go with 1/2 the movement that is suggested in the kit and you won't be far off for your first flights.

You'll not regret a weasel. In fact, to every zagi you see in SoCal, you'll see 10 weasels. Just about every sloper from serious diehard to dabbler has one.
With any wing (zagi) or plank (weasel) you'll find that CG position is critical and elevator is extremely sensitive. You'll need dual rates and elevator expo is highly recommended.
Check out the 'other' message board which hosts a very large contingent of slopers from your area.
