Hi all, I am wanting to get another plane to replace my x-models whisper, which I had a lot of fun with, but want to replace now! I am contemplating either an Aeromod Aldij, which is a known entity to me, or a Vladmirs Models Mini Graphite, which is not. I am leaning towards the MG as I do not have the time to spend building the Aldij, and am not so sure about cutting the control surfaces out of the wings etc.... - seems to be a lot of effort, and also the finish of these planes is not so good. I have a Prodij and am extremely happy with it, but it is not my show plane! Also the Aldij is going to cost me a little more than I planned on spending. So my question is this - is the MG a good plane, I hear there is Kevlar in the Composite - is this in only the Fuselage, or also in the wing skins?? Is this plane stronger than the x-models whisper and how does it compare to an Opus in terms of strength? This is important, as our slopes are not the best in terms of landing - we do not have nice grass to land on!!
Thanks

You know you want the Aldij.
Marty has just finished his new one and is having a ball with it. Malcolm had his at red hill on sunday going realy well, they are much more suited to our rough landing areas than a hollow moulded ship.

Cutting and hinging is a bit of a chore, but worth it in the end, the deluxe pre hinged stuff is awesome but a little on the pricey side. Marty and Steve have done a couple of them, and had a look at how Marty was doing his latest one. Seems like a lot of work, but once started seem to go quite quickly, just a bit of a pain doin all the epoxy and micro balloon fillets etc.
Hope we get some good lift the week end, going to have a jol with the MF if it blows.
Cheers,
Gus

Seems not - obviously in their part of the world, the Aldij comes "Optimal" as standard!!! Sigh - Eric told me they don't even bring in the ARF version, as everyone complained about the price difference!!!

Gus if you want to get ballpark prices for Aeromod gear - Eric told me to go to Aeromod's site, get the price there in Euros, convert it and add14% - should be closeish to what you might pay here! Which makes the voltij - 310Euros = R2331.43, plus 14% = R2700 odd!!

OK Guys - just so you know, I went for the Aldij - got one from the Importer here, with finished Control surfaces, for the SAME price as the other one!!! YEHAH - he also gave me a hardware kit with it!!! Maidened it yesterday, after a few late nights building - jeez setting the tail is tricky - getting the 110 deg and then the incidence, which I set to 0deg - anyway, it flew like a charm - I am very happy!!! This is one awsome plane!!
