Default Need a glider

It has been over 20 years since I flew gliders and want to get another. The one I had went out of production long ago and I don't remember the name of it but it would thermal all the way into the clouds.
I want a 2 meter and wonder what glider would be the best today.
I just went down and found my old plans, it was a Drifter II.

If you're looking for something similar to the old Drifter II then I suggest you check out www.skybench.com for the Bird series of kits and some lovely nostalgia era kits that will make you think you're back in the 80's.

Search eBay for "sailplane". There is a Windrifter kit on there now. I have seen the Drifter II kits on there recently as well.

Real pretty bird. Looks like they will have kits out soon.

That sounds real good to me. E-mail me at [email protected].
I loved that glider. My friend had the Goldberg model, piece of cake or something. He would be on the ground while I flew another hour.

The Craft Air Drifter 2 was what I learned to fly on! Great airplane, lots of good memories and my first 1 hour flight.

Yea, my friend had one that he used to hand launch, before hand launch was invented, and I thought that stays up on nothing! That's why I bought it, but I've got a Sailaire, SD 100, Drifter II, and a Viking which I'm building now, so many planes, so little time!

If you build the Drifter II in time the Lass Woodie contest is in the begining of August, and it's near you.
