Does anyone know of a set of plans available for the U-2? I'm thinking of something in the 2 m to 3m size, but I can resize up or down as needed. I haven't had any luck with online searches on the aircraft.

I've seen some plans on ebay from time to time. I don't know anything else about them.

I myself have wanted to build a U-2 since I was a kid. recently I came across 2 different plansets/kits.

I have info on plans and molded parts for a 1:8 scale kit. (search the web under Jack Bale scale plans)

I also have info for for a U2R from germany as a kit ( FG fuse +foam wings) for about $200.00

send me your email address and i will forward the info.

Hi Daniel and thanks for the added info. I've decided to go with the Jack Bale plans for my U-2A, in part because of the larger fuselage diameter to fit my fan.

There is a guy on ebay who regularly sales 2 different plans one for a 90 some inch plane and the other for a 100 some inch plane. Just go to Ebay then Toys and Hobbies, Then Radion control. Do search click both boxs titles etc. Type glider, or slope and it is bound to come up. Or search U-2 also.

Steve Savoie wrote several articles in R/C Soaring Digest documenting his scratch built U-2. It was a collaborative effort with he and Dave Garwood.

It's pretty much exact scale : 1/12" scale (1 foot = 1 inch)

http://www.b2streamlines.com/RCSDindex.html

A search of their index says he started the project in Jan '99, with updates through June, and final test flight in Nov-Dec '99.

The plane has been aero-towed, and sloped at Lake Ontario and Soar Utah.

Hello, I have a set of U-2 plans, 96" WS, if anyone is interested. I will have to copy them.

Thanks,
Tim
