Thre biggest difference was in the fuselage profile, and it should be really esay to know whethrer you've got a 3 or not because the fore of the Kobuz 3 looks like the nose of a jet plane and the tail has a dorsal fin forward of the vertical stabilizer.
Here's an article that shows side views of the four models and some good photos of the one you want.

Thanks Stan
Definitely a 2 I've got. I now also have a 3 view ,which was sent to me by a Wessex Soaring Association member, of a 3 . This was originally from an article in the German FMT magazine. If anyone has a web address for this mag I'd appreciate it. A Google search turned up nothing!!

I'm glad you found the 3-view -- from what little info I've ever seen, I thought that maybe on German speakers were allowed to see info on that aiplane.
Is the 3-view you got a .jpg or something that could be posted or emailed? Other than some bad history (which I'm sure a lot of planes have), It's a plane that I still really like and would like to model some time.
