Fixing and AVA elevator mount

My Feedback: (2)
Replacing the AVA elevator V-mount.
I broke my V mount for the elevator. One of the side supports snapped on launch. I manged to get it down without incident. I did a repair of the old part. It seems to be holding but I did order a new one so I wanted to get some opinions on the repair. I purchased the plane used so I did not do the original build.
It looks the V mount slides onto the boom. In order to do that it seems I need to remove the mounts for the fin/rudder, right?
They appear to be epoxied on. So, I presume I would:
- heat them to release the epoxy
- slide the rudder/fin mounts off
- heat the v-mount to release the epoxy
- slide that off
- clean up the boom
- slide on the new V-mount for the stab and secure with epoxy
- slide on the fin mounts and epoxy in place.
Sound right?
Is there some other way that does not involve removing the fin mounts?
