Need ya'lls help!
[sm=drowning.gif]Does anyone know of a glider that comes w/a release preinstalled? I just made my Hanger 9 Piper Pawnee 40 into a tug, now I need something to tug! Any help out there? Or maby one that will accept a release with out too much work. (I hate working on planes, I just like to fly'em.

I know there's a couple that come with the release installed already. I just can't think of the exact maker and or model right off the top of my head. I'll see what I can find for you later. What price range are you looking at?
Here's an idea that will get you by until you can find a model with a "normal" release. Take a 2"X1" section of Velcro and put one side of it on the underside of the nose of the plane and attach the other side to your tow line. The Velcro will hold the two together for towing. To release, you just give the glider a quick shot of down elevator followed by full up. The Velcro will pull away and the glider is then on its own. Best thing about this is it's fast, easy and CHEAP!

RE: Need ya'lls help!
Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your reply.
I don't have a price in mind at this moment, it depends on the features of the glider. I'm thinking in the 2 meter size range.
As far as the velcro thingy goes, I have the EASY GLIDER set up like that and am going to try it tomorrow night weather permitting.

The Velcro sould work great with the EZ Glider. It does have limitations though. I wouldn't suggest trying it on anything larger than say a 3 meter woodie plane. Any larger and it may disconnect early. (...and usually at the WORST time as per Murphys' Law)
