on my Cularis, I did not glue the servo connectors as suggested in the manual. I use Velcro to hold the wings to the fuse and the stock clips right behind the leading edge on the bottom wing side

Ive built 2 Cularis's and I had to trim the servo connections where they plug in. It took some time to get it right. but I have had no problems with the connections.

Is there anyone that is using a Multiplex EVO7 with the Cularis? I am new to this and would appreciate some setup advice.

Thanks

Try this on your DX 7

First, the rx connections:

1. right side Aileron into AIL channel
2. Left side aileron into AUX 2 channel
3. Flap into Flap channel (AUX 1)
4. Rudder, elevator and Throttle into the normal channels

TX program

1. Go into the Set-up mode (hold down scroll and select keys while turning on tx)
2. scroll to the Input Select screen
3. Set Aux2 to INH, AUX2 TRIM to INH, FLAP to SYSTEM (should be default) , FLAP TRIM to INH
This turns off AUX 2 channel from the lever.
4. do NOT activate Flapperon in wing type. This must be OFF.

Aileron Set up
1. Power off tx and turn back on. Go to normal programming mode
2. Scroll to P-mix 6. Set AILE as master and AUX2 as slave. Set the mix values to 100% in both stick directions.
3. Scroll to Sub Trim and set the neutral for the right side aileron with AILE channel and the neutral for the left side aileron with AUX2. (if the direction of one or both of the ailerons is backwards, first go to the REVERSING SW screen and reverse the apropriate channel (either 2, 7 or both)
4. Scroll to Travel Adjust. Set the desired travel for the right side aileron with the AILE adjustment.
5. Scroll back to P-Mix 6 and tweak the travel of the left side aileron to match the right side with the mix values by increasing or decreasing from 100%, for each stick direction.

Flap Set-up
1. Go to normal programming mode
2. Scroll to Sub Trim and set the neutral for the flaps with FLAP channel.
3. Scroll to FLAP SYS. screen. Set the desired travel for each of the 3 Flap switch positions. You can also set any elevator compensation for each of the 3 flap positions here. (typically it would be 0 for the neutral position and then tweak in what is needed after you test fly for the mid and full flap positions.)

That should do it.

You will have to flip one flap servo over so they are both laying on there same side. This is the best way, don't be tempted to use a servo reverser. The servo horns are not visible from the top, and the fact that they will both be laying with the outputshaft to the right (or both left) nobody will see.
So close it's getting exciting, isn't it!
Glad to help.

hello asking for help if you can no getting the flaps working properly.on my cularis.transmitter dx7 receiver ar7000.with the help of a fellow member i have gotten things almost right, but the flaps are moving in opposite directions when i operate the flap switch.i did use a y-harness to control both flaps ,but i feel that this is incorrect. i still have the gear space still free on the receiver.i have tried to program gear to flap on the transmitter and i am still having trouble doing it properly.i feel that this bird will never see the sky and will never leave the work bench. can anyone help?

thanks much fellow flyers,
richard

As mentioned above, you need to turn one flap servo around, then remove the servo horn and replace it in the correct position. Just put the servos in in the same position, facing the same direction, so the horn(part that moves)moves the same direction on both of them. Put them so both output shafts with horn face the left wingtip, not one facing left and one right. If you have anyone nearby to help, that would be great. If not, prepare to repair.

guys, on the cularis wing clips i just added a small square piece of 1/64 ply where the wing clip mounts
to the fuse. put this on both sides of the root an dill the small hole though it an bolt the clips or tabs back on.
this keeps you from trimimg the tab ends. i hope this helps.

Sounds like it is nose heavy and not balanced side to side. Not moving fast enough (close to stall) will make it worse.

Good luck
Robert
