Default Using the included USB adapter and Flight Sim with eSky

Can anyone help me with this?

My eSky heli came with a flight sim disk and a USBadapter that plugs into the bottom of the controller. Ihave found out that Ineed the controller batteries installed and it needs to be turned on, but my computer isn't recognizing the hardware.

Could I have a dodgy USBadapter (Ithink they call it a "soft dog")?

Thanks in advance.
