Default Help needed

Hi All,

This is a great forum and this is my first post, sadly a bad one.

I just got a mini drangonfly. When I connect the batteries, and turned on the remote, the green led lights up. But the problem is there is a strange sound coming from the servo. Like radio static sound or clicking sound. Is that normal? After which I tried to switch off the remote, then the heli went crazy! Its rotor blades seem to be at full throttle and starts spining out of control. It happens too sometimes when I turn on the remote. This is terrible and it seems that the heli is turning into a dangerous weapon.

Could it be radio interference?
Can someone tell me anything about the servo reverser function on the remote and what exactly does it do. Could it got to do with it?
Thank you very much.

You can't turn your remote (transmitter) off before you turn your dragonfly (receiver)off. You have to turn your receiver off first or your dragonfly will go crazy. As for your servos making strange sounds, are they digital servos? Digital servos will make a strange buzzing sound.

You can reverse the direction in which your servo travels (left to right or right to left). You have to make sure that your servos are going in the right direction or you will have a big problem when you try to fly your dragonfly.

Thanks for replying Charlie.

What about when I want to fly my heli(turning on)? I will have to on the transmitter first, then the receiver?

I will be grateful too if someone can tell me what are the differences between aileron, elevator, throttle and rudder.

Are there any tips on which servo should travel in which direction too?

Thank you very much.

Yes! Turn your transmitter on first. The aileron make you go left or right, the elevator makes you foreword and back, the throttle will make you go up or down and the rudder will turn your heli around. The radio manual should tell you all this.

I don't know to much about the dragonfly, but the manual should tell you which way the servos should go. If not, email these guy's, they should be able to tell you [link=http://www.rctoys.com/]http://www.rctoys.com/[/link] they sell them.

GUYS,
remember to turn on the remote controller first, and then the helicopter second.

The manual for the Dragonfly is not of much help, lacking useful information and mine shows control operation for Mode 1. This forum would be more helpful.

You must have something plugged in wrong. Unplug everything, turn on your transmitter, now start plugging stuff back in one a at time (start with your battery) so you can see where the problem is. Did you buy it used or new?

Well I bought it used. The previous owner had it about 3 months. He is too a beginner and does gave it up after not being to hover it. He got it all fixed up at the hobby shop.

I am not too sure about the wiring but I can see that the rudder and throttle wires seem to be plug in correctly. (There's the word "throttle" and "rudder" written on the mixer thing.)
