General Questions - Shuttle Plus
I just bought my first helicopter
Shuttle plus .30
Futaba 9CHP radio with 9 channel receiver
I'm pretty sure that I have everything that I need to actually fly.
What I dont know is all the other stuff.
Like what kind of starter. I guess i can use a torqmaster, but does each type of helicopter have a special starting rod, or is that generic.
Another thing, do I run 15% or 30%. My LHS does not carry the 30%.
Also, does anybody know a site where they talk about the shuttle? Kinda like raptortechnique.com for the shuttle? If they don't have one, I'm definitely going to start one!
Thanks

RE: General Questions - Shuttle Plus
Most helis start with either a cone start or a hex start (some shuttles use a belt start). Pull start engines are also available.
With a cone start you push the starter directly on the heli.
With a hex start there is an adapter that fits on the end of your starter. This is pushed into a socket on the heli for starting. The adapters are pretty generic to most hex start helis. I believe this is the method used on the shuttle plus.
30% nitro is way too high (and too expensive). I guess 10-15% is about normal. (I only run 5% but that is lower than the norm)
