JR 8103 or Futaba 9C?
Which one is a better deal??
JR XP8103PCM + GY401/9253 $699
or
9CHP R149DP 4 S9001 + GY401/9253 $727
Both come with receivers
The JR has better servos but the Futaba has one extra channel and may be a better radio?? Probably boils down to personal preference?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I love my 8103, I think it all comes down to whether you want Futaba or JR. Both great radio's and will do all you need it to do. Have fun!

RE: JR 8103 or Futaba 9C?
If you ask which is the better radio, you delve into the eternal Chevy / Ford dilema. My opinion on the radio is the 9C. I played with both at the LHS, and found it easier to program, with a larger LCD screen (shows better graphical data, like throttle / pitch curves for helis), and just felt more comfortable in my hands. I won't badmouth JR because I have never flown with one, so do some of your own hands on comparing if you can.
Also, another consideration is to check at your field (if you belong to a club) to see what is most common there. If you run into problems, someone who is familiar with your radio will have an easier job helping you. I can fumble my way around an 8103, but I can damn near run through a 9C blindfolded, because it's what I know.
When it comes to higher end radios, don't always look at the better "deal". Get what you are going to happy with for a long time to come, because aircraft can come and go , but if cared for, either one of these radios could keep you happy for quite some time.
My $0.02

9C...........great radio.......good looking too....you won't have to "upgrade" if you get the 9C.......if you don't have the money for the 9C then you can get the 8103......another great radio....

RE: JR 8103 or Futaba 9C?
Thanks for the feedback! The cost of the two rigs are essentially the same $699 vs $727. I figured it would be up to preference and the quality of the servos.
Can anyone rate the Futaba S9001 vs the JR811 Digital Servo???

I got the JR package - it's great. I'm sure I would love the 9c also.....was a tough decision.
I replaced s9002 servos with the 811's - digital is much better. Just be prepared for them to drain your rx battery a lot faster.
I'm getting 3-4 flights per pack. 1100mah nicd(3)&2000mah nimh(4).
