Default RE: another new bie question

The answer to your first question is yes. Most transmitters allow you to program several flight modes. You can set up one flight mode for this if you wish.

The current gyros work by sensing changes in the vibration of specially shaped peizo-electric crystals. All that happens as a result is you can determine if something is turning, in which direction, and how fast. This information is used to control the tail rotor pitch servo to cancel and (in heading hold mode) reverse any changes in rotation of the helicopter body.
