Default Exponential setting question for 7CHP...

So TREXtuning.com recomends setting CH1 and CH2 Epo setting to 30%:

OK, so for radio setup, first dial in 30% expo for channels 1&2 (which should be your cyclic servos). On some radios this is just 30% expo, on others it will be -30% expo. The aim here is to make the controls softer around the centre stick position.
So for the 7CHP would this be -30% or +30% ?

I'm waiting for my gyro so I can't experiment.

The Manual is very confusing on this topic.

Cheers.

To lessen the sensitivity on Futaba radios you give a NEGATIVE expo or - 30%. I believe that is with all futaba radio's.

I use a Futaba 7C and rander1 is correct. You want to use -30%.

Yes, 30% expo is -30 on a futaba, +30 on a JR... HOWEVER!, everyone is different so you'll have to feel things out... I don't like any expo on my airplanes... I use just a SMIDGE of expo (like -5 or -10) on my helis nitro helis... For ALL my micros though, including the T-rex, I found the BEST for me was actually a fair amount of POSITIVE expo... (on futaba)... This makes it "more" sensitive around mid-stick, rather than less.... What I found, was that with the micros, you CONSTANTLY have to give small corrections to keep it in a solid stable hover... With no expo, or negative expo, you where moving the sticks all over the place and it was almost hard to keep up with (especially other micros aside from the t-rex)... So, with POSTIVE expo, the "Corrections" can be input VERY fast and with very small movements... This makes it easy for me to keep that thing in a rock solid hover with no problems at all... Then when your doing turns, or FF, etc... as soon as you leave the "center" stick portion it smooths out and makes things nice and easy....

Technically if you want linear......... NM I'll shaddup! :-X

Yep negative expo in Futaba to get a softer center but the bottom line is play with it and see what feels best to you.

Thanks guys, thats what I thought...

rusirius, Interesting thoughts on this topic...I'll be sure to experiment a bit.
