Even though I have been fly planes for approximatly 2 1/2 years I have decided to give RC heli's a try. After much research I decided to go with the Hawk Sport for a beginner heli. When I was in the process of building up the heli the more indepth set of instructions recommended greasing the tail rotor's drive wire. The only type of grease I have found is by Tri flow which is pretty expensive at 8.99 a tube. I was wondering if there is a supliment that I could maybe pickup at a hardware or automotive store to use in its place.

I've used wheel bearing grease for that application without any problems. I try to stay away from wire driven tails now. I even prefer the belt more than torque tube. Century makes a carbon torque tube you could use but I am disappointed with the quality of their carbon tubes. The few that I have purchased were all warped. I even used one that caused enough of a vibration that a crack developed in the tail boom at the tail case.
