Default First chopper help

Hey guys,
I currently fly glow planes, and a mate has convinced me to buy a chopper. So basically i am wondering what you guys suggest from your own experiences as to be the best brand to go with OVERALL. He flies several Hirobo's and believes thats what i should go with, but the price is a little offputing. He also said value for money the Raptor 50 V2 is good, as here in Aus i can get one with engine for about $650, where as i think the Hirobo's will be a lot more as he has sold a couple 2nd hand for around the same price. But i have read a few things on here that people don't think the Raptor is as good as its popularity, with several failures and what not.
Personally i have always like the Century Hawk/Raven but am unsure of availability in Aus, but the Kyosho Concept 30 and the JR Venture 30 i can and i like them, but as i have never looked into choppers deeply i have no experience to make judgement on what is/isn't worth buying. I want a nice 30-50size chopper that i can keep for a while as i don't plan on buying another unless i need to, so i want to find one that is upgradable as i grow with experience. All these choppers i know i can get in Aus. The JR is about $1300 with engine, pipe and Gyro.

So any help is greatly appreciated. I will be flying with my JR x2610, and i have all ther other gear from planes obviously, i will just need to change fuel and get a starter rod.

Thanks, James
