Default Idiots guide

Is there an idiots guide to helis any where?
Ok I will admit to being thick when it comes to things that fly. In fact my present level is knuckle drager
I understand that fixed pitch means the blades stay in the same place through out flight.
I have a tool for altering the pitch on the blades of my two helis, gathering dust.
A t9cp super tx, that I was advised will last me through a few helis and a 100 page manual that is in total geek and I can make prity paterns on the grapgh pages
I have reflex xtr to learn on. Do you alter the graph thingies, set the rotor head etc to the real thing to use it? (Im a pro at crashing every thing now)

My Rex I take down the club, they kindly set it up
My Hawk Pro will be droped down the local hoby shop to be set up.

But what are they doing when they set em up?

Are there any good books out there that are not writen in geek, explain things in knuckle drager english and even a humble brain dead refrigeration engineer can understand.

Please help
