Default GY401 w/ SMM

Got one of these on a used chopper, the rudder servo will not hold the center setting after unit has been on for a few minutes. I can bypass the gyro by directly wiring rudder servo to rec. and all is well.........what's going on here ? By the time I start the engine and get to the flight line, that is about the time it starts. When I try to lift off, I get a violent left hand spin.....[:@]

Are you using it in HH mode or rate mode? Did you turn it on in HH mode and let it initialize? Do you have the gyro direction setting correct? Do you have revo mixing enabled? Did you set the servo travel limit properly on the gyro? Did you adjust your rudder trim in standard mode? Did you fiddle with your rudder trim after turning it on in HH mode?

Well not holding centering is normal if the gyro is in heading hold mode the servo will not react on the ground as you expect.

Here's some reading for you.
