Tethered DC power supply and Best Beginner RTF Kit
So I am pretty much between the following 2 Heli's:
http://ohiomodelplanes.com/tornado/ (advertised all over this site)
The Tornado seems to have everything you could possibly want in a kit, Sim Kit, heat sinks, decent motors, and durable
Then the other choice is:
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByC...rodID=EFLH1100
The Blade CP seems to be more maneuverable and upgradeable, but does not include the Sim kit, the heat sinks, stronger motor etc. I do not care about acrobatics right now as I am new and know I am going to need plenty of Sim and practice time before even attempting that, So I am really looking for anyones thoughts on the tornado since there are ample reviews of the blade CP.
Also has anyone ever simply tethered a DC power converter directly to the helicopter with a 12-20 foot cord? I was just thinking about essentially having unlimited flight time with no batteries. I am assuming after 15 minutes you should let motors cool off but besides that why is this not common?

RE: Tethered DC power supply and Best Beginner RTF Kit
people like to heve the freedom to go farther than 20 feet away. besides a cord sways, the swaying motion causes the heli to tend to tip and that's not really a good thing.
