bore sizes for brushless motors
hey I was looking at an align 420LF and was wondering what the bore size was. grand rc sells pinnions, but, they come in 2mm bore and 2.2mm bore which is the right one to get? (or does it matter) what do they mean by bore: size of hole, diameter of gear, tired of looking also what tooth pinnion should I get? any help is welcome.

RE: bore sizes for brushless motors
Bore would be the size of the hole. The motor specs should tell you the size of the shaft. It's important to get a perfectly matched bore or your gear will not spin true. I think the align bore is 3 MM, can anyone confirm that? I think that's the most common size for 400 class motors.
It might be even smaller, i'm not sure.

I think it's 2mm, as all their pinnions (trex, zoom, shogun, x-400) were 2.2 or 2.0 so it's one of those...

RE: bore sizes for brushless motors
go to grand rc and look under the TRex page of OCM or MODs find a pic that has three pinnions in it and get the one that says 11?,13?,15? I got that and got 4 pinnions, 9,11,13,15 and it fits perfectly on the motor and meshes well. it also has a set screw so you can tihtne it down as well as easily remove the pinnion.
