Hey,
I've got my Walkera dragonfly #4... but before flight, I want to practice on the pc using a simulator. I've downloaded (illegally) the Realflight G3 sim, but I guess it won't work with the transmitter that comes with the dragonfly... it just doesn't recongnise the transmitter. Or does it somehow have to work??? (it's not USB).
If not, I want to download a free sim.... but I don't know what the name is of a good free sim. Which (free and downloadable) sim do you recommend?

First of all, you need PPJOY to read the joystick inputs using the serial cable that comes with the Dragonfly. This program converts the TX to a virtual joystick. Also there is a free sim,FMS which might not be the best but works for Dragonfly.Go to:http://hermer.co.uk/fms/--this site has FMS,PPJOY,and a Dragonfly profile for FMS and instructions for downloading and configuring the whole thing to make it work.

Hmm still doesn't work.... I followed all the instructions... but at the PPJoy Serial Stream to Virtual Joystick it says @ Joystick device: 'Virtual Joystick 1" and behind that "error 2 opening joystick"
So it still doesn't work.... do u have any ideas?
Thnx alot!
** also calibrating it does nothing at all.... no bars move or anything :/

Admitting you pirate software on a public forum is never a good idea. I'm sure lots of people here do it, but common sense says, don't talk about it in an open forum where you ip is logged. It's just not a very smart thing to do..
As for your problem, G3 requires it's own transmitter or dongle, as it's commonly referred to, and will not work with anything else. I know of no way to bypass or crack it at the moment.
If you want a good flightsim, try FMS. It's not the best out there, it's graphics aren't great, but it works, it will teach you orientation, and it should work with your helicopters transmitter aslong as you're using joystick emulation software (PPJoy drivers and PICJoy)
Here's the FMS homepage:

Also, theres another free one call Pre-flight, i've got it, but can't seem to get it to work properly. I don't know the website, but a google search should yield it for you.

If you have another joystick or game controller hooked up you may have to disable it or disconnect it.Also,I heard that the newer Walkera radios no longer use Zhen Hua protocol but now are ppm and need a special microchip adapter to decode the signals.I also heard there were some "transitional" radios that never had the wires soldered to the port at all!You could try add new hardware wizard to see if pc recognizes joystick at lpt1 or com1.

Thnx alot guys for helping me out
