Hello!
I'm a first time owner of the Rotofly, seems to be ok so far but I've only got a couple charges on it. I'm trying to proactive like suggested in the DVD. Keep the Heli in a small area facing away from you and get it light then slowly move it around. This is where I'm having my issue. I get the throttle up and it gets light then wants to drift left, I can hold it if I push full cyclic right but it never does anything other then keep it from moving left. I have tried trimming all the way to the right but it still pushes left. I looked it over good and there doesn’t seem to be anything out of whack as far as I can tell and the squash plate looks level. I can move forward and back and can really move like crazy to the left
but can’t get back to the right
, maybe it’s a good thing because its making me spin the tail around to not have to shut it down and move it back to the right, good experience.
Is this pretty normal with these? Should I just go for the hover and worry about it then or is there something on it I can adjust?
Any advice is appreciated, great forum so far I’ve already found a bunch of good data out here.
Thanks

Your problem probably has a lot to do with rotor wash (drifting left). "IF YOU CAN" get the heli up about 3 feet so it is out of it's own rotor wash and see what it does. If that doesn't help your going to have to do some adjusting on the aileron linkage going to the swash plate.

If moving your stick and trim full right doesn't in some way cause your heli to roll right then something is misadjusted at the heli.
Good Luck,

it drifts left on the floor because it is "absolutely level" like if the heli had a gyroscope level gauge or bubble indicator.
the heli when it's in the air will tilt to the right a little bit in hover. that's why you cannot move right on the floor because it cannot tilt to the right. adding right stick will tilt it further to move it easily in air.
basically do NOT try to keep the heli level in hover. you should be focusing on keeping the UNIT still to hover. you only think about absolutely level when you are landing - and even then you dont. you only think about level when it comes to elevator so you dont hit the tail on the floor. landing 1 skid at a time is how it usually happens anyway, just dont let it tip over sideways.
if you do this on the floor, the natural position of the heli will be up on the left skid and light on the right (but not moving) if you give it enough pitch/throtle. that will be True hover on the floor. you find you will be able to move right and left the same.
your heli is drifting to the left for the following reasons:
the tail rotor is adding left vector thrust
the heli is unable to shift its weight to the right to compensate for the tail rotor by tilting right
the trim is NOT off, the heli just cannot be controlled as perfectly on the floor versus in the air
you do not have 100% control of the heli until it is given enough power to lift off.
