Ok, I have a 30 sized kyosho, but i am not a good heli pilot. Half the problem with the kyosho is that I am truley scared to fly it, and often do not have the time to find a good flying spot, and or an expierenced pilot to to help in the proccess of honing my skills, or I do not have the space in my truck to bring around a larger heli. So I need some help deciding which one to get.
#1 I am not a good pilot, but want a heli that I can use as my skills progress.
#2 I can takeoff and Land alright, but hovering above 3~4 is difficult for me
#3 I will be taking this heli with me from worksite to worksite, so I want something small, and electric.
#4 I would like something I can get parts for easily, as it may be a month or two before i can get home and i don't like having things shipped to hotel rooms. or worksite warehouses.
#5 LHS carries the E-Flite Blade and parts on a regular basis. would this be worth looking at
#6 It would be nice if i could get a sim that has the same helicopter I am purchasing so i can get some "practice time" when conditions or space do not allow for real flight time.
I am hoping with some flight time on a different heli, that I may get over my fear of the Kyosho and start enjoying my fly time.
Thank you for your time and advise

I love the blade. I did my learning on it, and now can fly my nitro heli no problem. It actually comes in a very durable box so you can keep it in there and not have to worry about it being damaged while transporting or storing. I have a big stack of destroyed rotor blades. I went through alot of replacement parts due to pilot error (nose in hover........etc.), but they are available at every hobby shop in town. Crashing the blade isn't as scary as crashing the nitro helis either, so it kind of takes that fear away. Once that is gone, you can push yourself to really learn. The heli is actually very durable. Mine has survived some big crashes that would destroy my nitro. Most of the time, I was able to pick it back up, straighten the rotors, and put it right back in the air. There are some decent upgrades like carbon blades and definitely get a lipo battery. The stock nimh battery will fly it, but not for very long, and not very impressively.

I would tend to agree with RASLOCUM... The blade CP is and was my first heli and I have had a great time learning on it. I was hovering (tail-in) after 5 battery charges with no problems. Now after a month I am just starting to experience 3-d flight even though it is not very pretty, yet. The blade is really docile for a beginner heli as long as you stay in your comfort zone and try new manuevers only when you think you can finally control the heli, rather than the heli contolling you.
I think my quick learning curve comes from years of RC plane experience but hey I have heard good things from people who had never touched a transmitter prior to the Blade purchase. Replacement parts are way cheap. Stock up on blades though... you'll need em. Training gear is a must and you can get away with the NiMh batts until you get comfortable. Make sure to buy a quick charger though. Otherwise it is 2.5 hours between flights with the included wall charger. I got the hobbico quick field charger and a spare batt and had them charged and ready in 45mins and you can charge 2 at a time!
Good luck and happy flying.....

Cy,
Your story sounds similar to what my brother went through. He got a used 30 sized heli, got to hover a few times but also planted it a few times. It sat for a while, and I talked him into each of us getting T-Rex's. We put them together, got ourselves comfortable with them, learned how to tweak them for best flight, and worked on our flight skills. My skills are up to full throttle figure 8's. His have moved beyond that, and he got his 30 back together. He throws that around the sky. He is putting togehter a 50 sized heli so that he will not have the limitations that a 30 has.
So, your plan is good.
I do like the T-Rex, and the case I got for it keep the heli, transmitter and spares nicely bundled. But you can easily throw $600-700 at this model.
