RE: Hawk Sport
I didn't bother balancing my blades from my Hawk kit, as i had read in magazines that most blades are balanced pretty well before packing. Granted i did order a blade balancer and will balance my blades as soon as it arrives.
I had very little tracking issues, if any (it looked pretty clean, maybe a degree off...) but it flew just fine.
The nut on the end of my engine, clutch, and fan assembly also only threaded about half way. This didn't seem to be a problem at all, just make sure you put red threadlock like they tell you to. I had to take it off when i broke my cooling fan (where the start adapter meets the fan) and that nut was held very tight, even with only half the threads.
Since i got grounded from my broken fan i've gone through all my links balancing and adjusting them to be where i believe they should be (90* everything, balanced everything). Practically all the factory set ones were not balanced and/or otherwise wrong. I wouldn't suggest adjusting them unless you know what you are doing though =D. I don't think a single link on my heli is at the length the manual says it should be anymore.
