Default training gear

I'm a newbie flying the venom outback rescue. My biggest problem is hard landings! I'm running out of epoxy putting the skid assembly back together! All the training gear I've seen on-line is for saving the rotors from damage if tipping over on take off. Ive gotten 30-40 second hovers before heading for trouble and going for the all to quick landing. My question is has anyone seen any training gear out there that will absorb the brunt of a hard landing without causing damage to the skid assembly,or do I have to custom make it myself? Thanks for any info!

Have a look at "Hows my header tank" elsewhere in this the Beginners forum.
There is a nice pic with trainers.

Ahh...you funny guy!! I tried the balloons but all the sharp leaves on the holly trees in my yard sent it back to the ground! User name came from a video of a poor German kid watching his helicopter crash and wouldn't shut off! Just kept destoying itself while all he could do was yell " nine heli..nine heli..!

I have an Outback Rescue. I have been using a Training set made for the Blade CP. I use wire ties to fix it to the skid. It has saved me a lot. The Trainer flexes a little bit which is great for hard landing. I have not had to fix anything after 15 flights+.

Do you fly indoors or outdoors with your outback? What do you have your rate and gyro adjustment set to?

I have mainly flown it indoors. But the room I fly it is small about 10 by 11 with 9 ft ceiling with padded carpet(it helps also). So I get a little wind action pushing it around in the room. I have not adjusted anything on the Helicopter. I do adjust the Transmitter. I have just now started taking it outside. But windless days are few and far between here in Texas. I am not sure which hole to use for rate and gyro adjustment. Do you know??

I really like the Outback Rescue. I think it might not as stable as the Blade CX. But that just fun and learning.

Yes. The rate adjustment is the hole toward the canopy. The gyro is toward the tail. Today, I turned them both all the way to neg, then turned the rate up about 1/2 turn toward + and the gyro about a 1/4 toward + and actually flew the outback for 8 minutes without incident of any kind! Even had a soft landing! Would have been longer but the battery died. The adjustments from the factory are allot higher and make it harder to control, unless you are already experienced with heli"s (which I'm not). When you get better with this heli (so I'm told)you can fly it outdoors even with some wind.(both adjustments should be set to full +) to make the outback extremely responsive to answer to the wind. When this heli is adjusted and trimmed to your ability, you'll find it as stable,if not more than the cx because it is almost twice the size and weight.
