I have been flying planes for three years and now i am going into helis.I have a 9vap 1024 radio and have never used it yet.Is it possible to use this radio for helis?The hirobo zx 30 size heli is what i have and i realy dont want to have to buy another radio.

The A in that stands for airplane, but the Futaba programming on a lot of their radios will cross now days. Look in the book that came with it and see if it has a control to turn a gyro on and off and control it. If it does, your in luck. I am pretty sure you can make that radio work. The ratchet on the throttle stick may be a little harder, the heli is a lot smoother ratchet. If you can't make it work, put an ad in the swap section and trade just the transmitter for a 9VHP. That way you will for sure be able to fly helis and planes. The other option is to sell it and get the 9CHP. It is by far the best radio I have seen in the hobby yet. Not quite a ZHP, but the CHP has more than you will ever use and is affordable. It is a great radio.
