Get a Futaba 401 and you will never look back!

roverks:: ... a walkera gyro and it just wont keep the head still in one place ...
Is the gyro a heading hold gyro?
If not, then it is NOT supposed to hold the head still. Even the 401 won't hold the head in RATE mode ...

What holds the head still (no YAWing) with a RATE mode gyro (assumming no outside influences ... ala wind) is how well your heli is mechanically trimmed. The only thing a RATE mode gyro does is limit the YAW rate (how fast it YAWs) ... it will not hold the head from YAWing if there is some outside force (wind) affecting it or the helis YAW trim is not setup correctly.

If the gyro IS heading hold capable, then the gain may be too low or it might be a lousy gyro or a broken gyro.

Good Luck,
d.tipton

As far as i can tell from what i have seen on a T-Rex the telebee head holding gyro is garbage i am sure some will disagree but the one i saw took about 15 seconds just to initialize and didn't do the job is was suppose to. Hope this helps i agree you would be better off with the 401 than a telebee head holding gyro.
Regards,
Phil.

Ever thought about using the rudder stick on the TX? Ooops ... did I say that out loud?

Sorry

Will the telebee work? Sure, aslong as you don't mind fighting to set it up and having to constantly re-trim it as the temperature, moon cycles, geothermic reactions, and whatever other tiny things the gyro seems to go out of whack for don't bug you.

Otherwise, spend the money on a good GY240 or GY401 if you've got a computer transmitter and you'll never need another gyro.

The Futaba gyros aren't that much more expensive than the telebee ones, and they're 100 times better. Don't short-change your self.

thanks,
you are very right, i will save some more money and get a better gyro, how it the GY240 as compared to the telebee and the GY401.
also when a put my walkera gyro in AVCS mode the tail servo goes to the left almost all the way, would you know how to reset this or fix this, i have read the manual but i could not understand.

i havent touched a telebee in the last 4 or 5 yrs but EVERYONE i have dealt with has been complete junk and there have been many, i used to be the 'heli setup guy' localy and living at Ft Rucker home of Army Helicopter training there are a ton of new folks coming through wanting to learn to fly helis. i've got four of the GY401s w/ S9253 servos and they are equally impressive beside the two JR G5000Ts w/ 8700Gs

other than the gy401 being able to be controlled from a radio, do you think that the gy240 is like the gy401 in performance.

if your flying skills aren't advanced enough to tell the difference i doubt you will notice it.
