Having problems starting with MDS 38 in Ergo. New motor Settings at 2 1/2 on both needles. Using Cool power 30% Heli fuel , Hanger 9 #3 plug (McCoy). First tank ran thru fine at rich idle now hard to start. Is this motor normally tempermental? Should I change to another brand? OS? What will go in the Ergo in it's place? Will it require adaptation? Thanks

I'm pretty new to this myself, but my Heli has an MDS 38, and when I bought it the owner did the following when it struggled to start:
1) turn it over a few times with the starter (only for a couple of secs
2) disconnect the fuel line
3) turn it over again (this time it fired up, although only for a second since it had no fuel to keep it going).
4) connect the fuel again
5) try to start
He said he's noticed this on MDS's, and when he did it, it started up really quickly (as in a second from step 5).
Got to be worth a try :-)
Hope it helps

MDS are really a paperweight manufacturer branching out into new markets...................unfortunately they hav'nt grasped the concept of model glow engines very well.............but they make great paperweights!
Put it on ebay - get an OS
