Can this controller be hooked up to a flight simulator?

Here is what I did to get it working with FMS with my stock Blade CX Transmitter.

You can get the FMS - Flying-Model-Simulator here:

http://n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/index_e.html

You will need to get SmartPropoPlus for FMS to allow you connect your TX via your audio in jack on your PC

SmartPropoPlus for FMS (PPM All brands (Default) Get it here:

http://www.geocities.com/shaul_ei/Sm...oPlus_FMS.html

Your Stock Blade CX Transmitter will need a jack installed to allow it to work with SmartPropoPlus & FMS.
(Do this at your own Risk I take no responsibility if you screw it up)

How to install a jack to allow you to connect your Blade CX Transmitter to your PC:

1. Remove the batteries and Open up the back of your TX

2. Gently unplug the connector from the batteries on the main PC Board

3. Drill a 15/64 inch (or 1/4 inch) hole in the back of the radio for a 1/8 inch phone jack.
(I drilled mine through the blank plug where the trainer plug should be.

4. Install an 1/8 Phone Jack in the hole you made in step 3. (radio shack part # 274-251)

5. Locate the 5 pin connector in the lower right hand side of the PC Board.

6. Connect a wire from the 2nd pin from the right to the Ring on the 1/8 inch jack.

7. Connect a wire from the 3nd pin from the right to the Tip on the 1/8 inch jack.

Note: As this is an audio signal I would suggest using shielded wire or as I
did just twist the wires against each other (don't short them to each other).

8. Inspect your work.

9. Re-connect the connector on the main PC board to the batteries.

10. Close the back up and re install the batteries.

Thanks for writing these instructions. I just performed this mod to my Blade CX transmitter so I could use it with the PhoenixRC simulator. I had to do one thing differently from your directions to get it to work with Phoenix. The difference was: the pin assignments that you described in steps 6 and 7 needed to be shifted to the left by one, otherwise I just got a message in Phoenix telling me to attach my transmitter. Specifically, here are the modified steps 6 and 7 that work for hooking up to PhoenixRC.

6. Connect a wire from the 3rd pin from the right to the Ring on the 1/8 inch jack.

7. Connect a wire from the 4th pin from the right to the Tip on the 1/8 inch jack.

Everything else stays the same as Heli_Harry described.
