I'm thinking about getting a small rc helicopter. Does altitude affect flying ability? 'cause I live at 7,000 feet, and I know that rc blimps doen't work so well up here, but planes work fine.

I've read in other threads or boards about this issue. Most have said the helis fly but the batteries don't last as long. I'm guessing due to working harder in a thinner environment. This is all third party info however but just passing along what Ive read.

hello there i also live at a high altitude, yes it does affect it some, so go with the brushless motor and a lipo battery. but the best thing you can do is buy the good carbon blades... they make a huge differnce.

Thanks for your replies, I am thinking about getting one, I just didn't want to waste money on a helicopter that I couldn't use.
