I have a os 32h engine in a Century Hawk sport, all brand new.
I have experience with glow engines in aircraft and now I have these problems:
1. while turning over engine with starter(ccw) it seems to be backfiring, and hard to turn over.
2. when it starts 8 out of 10 it starts backwards.
3. when running fuel spits out of carb. (direction?)

Make sure you have the starter plugged in right and if this is your first heli, get some help before you hurt someone. We had this conversation with a guy a couple weeks ago and he ended up flying into his truck. Better that than into someone standing there.

Ah yes plugged into the right way......... When looking at the crank end, the engine turns CCW-- correct , and blade leading edge leading. CCW engine rotation correct? Then I'll tell you what I use to start engine!

Its a common problem when the low end is a bit too rich. Try scerwing in the low end needle a small amount (les than 1/8th turn) at a time until the problem stops.
