of course, i think most people use the gy401 gyro because of its performance but its the same size as the falcon gyro.....i use a gy401 in my falcon actually and if i ever upgrade ill put that into the new heli. if you plan on getting a falcon and later getting a nitro, might as well buy a new gyro for the nitro though so you can still fly the falcon, your going to have to buy new servos, motor, etc...might as well buy a new gyro and have two helis to fly

we wouldn't recommend something if it didn't work. there are better gyros if you go .60 size or .90 size but for a .30 or .50 nitro the gy401 will work fine. I have 3 gy401's in 450 size electrics and I plan on moving one over to a trex 600N pro until I can afford a gy611.
If you're looking for a gyro that will work in both micro and .50 nitro then the gy401 is the one to get. it works with analog servos that the falcon will have but can handle the high data rate of digital servos (4 times that of analog) that you'll probably use on the tail of a nitro. it also has a remote gain feature that you can use on your computer radio.

i was talking about gyros to the heli guy at my LHS and he said he uses gy401 in his .90 size heli down to his 450 trex, says you cant beat the performance and you can pick them up on ebay brand new for 100ish. buy that and a dig servo u will be set.

[&o]I don't think you all read the thread right !(not offence to you druss, as i believe you know what your talking about).
The question was, could he use the gyro off the FALCON, on another heli. I would NOT as the falcon gyro is margonal at best!! I hava logictec 2100, JR 500t, Futaba 240, and eaven a telabee ! The FALCON can't hold a candle to any of them !!

ahh, that would make sense. wish people were more specific when they ask questions... "yes, but would it work" does not reference anything.
I agree, the gyros that come with RTF heli's are crap and should be one of the first things replaced (along with a brushed to brushless motor).
