I just bought a Falcon 40 Helicoptor and tried to fly it without trying the simulator - i broke the wings (maiden voyage) - so after it was fixed i downloaded the simulator from the "fms" website. i have the simulator fine however i cannot get my controller to show up on the screen. its hooked up fine but i'm not sure why its not appearing. Ive tried to change the settings but its merely guessing since i have no clue what to do. i'm sure it must be under controls, then analog control then one of the five: no interface, joystick interface, parallel - serial IRQ-interface-32 bit-vxd, serial IRQ-interface-16bit dll, or serial PIC interface. then once you pick one of those you have to pick resources which pops up a port numbered com 1 through 18 and below that it says 9600 baud/0xf0 + sync or 19200 baud/0xff sync. the other thing we must do is mapping and calibration. a series of 8 things rudder, elevation, aileron, etc. and a box with a number next to it, then 2 column next to each 8 for checks 1st is inv next is exp. then calibration which i believe is automatic. please help! i am so lost and don't know how to simulate flight and so want to fly this bad boy but don't want to crash it again! can anyone tell me how to hook this up?

Hi,
First of all you need a adequate cable to connect your Tx to the PC. I use FMS as well and have no problems. My Tx is a Futaba FF8 and I with the cable i bought for it had no problems with installation. More info would be helpfull.

First important thing is the type of connection you are trying to make.
I have a USB interface cable and have set it up as a joystick.
(Before this I had a serial cable but that did not work with Windows XP)
So select the joystick and continue to the channel setup.
Now you can select the channels for the functions, you can test this by moving the sticks.
After that you need to calibrate the channels by moving the sticks to their limits.
If you then close the dialoguebox you should be able to fly.
Let me know if you need more help.
