Default need help

Can someone please help? I bought a used belt cp and when it came the servo swithes were set up as though it were mode 1 but it is a mode 2.I set the switches to what the manual said and it would not throttle up so i reversed the throttle switch and the blades turned but got no lift off. The wind from the blades was blowing upwards, any ideas? Also when i had the transmitter and heli powered up i switched the throttle servo to normal and with stick all the way down the blades started spinning uncontrolably, had to hit switch back to reverse to get them to stop turning.

Do you have the idle up switch on? Its the toggle switch on the upper left corner of the tx.

Bob - need a little more information for your Belt problem.

Is the main rotor turning clockwise or counter-clockwise?

Is the throttle responding correctly?
Joystick at its lowest position - rotor not spinning
Joystick at its highest postion - rotor spinning at max speed
