Default Blade CX3 basic flying help

I'm just learning to fly my first helicopter, the Blade CX3. I can't find any basic instruction in flight maneuvers. The helicopter has cyclic controls and a head-holding gyro. When flying straight ahead, do you begin a turn with the rudder or the airleron? (or both) Does the same rule hold true for larger helicopters? Thanks

The CX3 flies similar to the CX2. I have a CX2. Since they are coaxials, they fly very stable, but also are quite restricted in what they can do. You will find that most of your turns will be done with rudder rather than aileron. Yes "leaning" into the turns helps, but at the speeds you're travelling, it won't be very apparent.

Best thing to do is hover forward and turn by using the rudder. Try landing and taking off. Try flying in different orientations. You will learn most from hovering in different orientations. Watch out for significant turbulence generated by your heli. For instance if you fly near the back of a couch or chair you will generate an eddy current sufficient in strength to "suck" your heli into the furniture!

There are lots of things to read on how to learn to fly these things. I especially like Mikey's videos, as they give you a good starting point.

There's plenty more out there, but try this first. And have fun. That is why you bought this thing right?

hi,
i'm a beginner.
Mikey's videos are definitely awesome, don't miss it.
i have two cx3 and an esky comanche and all i can fly are coaxials.
i'd recommend you not to fly in tight rooms and not too close to the floor.
these coaxials are very light and sensitive to air turbulence and ground effect .
i think it's easier to fly my cx3 when it's moving a little forward.
so, i like to have the aileron trim in a position so that the heli will naturally move forward.
this way you basically only have to focus on rudder and throttle, what makes a good difference for a beginner (like me).
regards.
