Default Os hyper bearings

Finally realized that the weird noise coming from my heli was a bearing. I thought it was the clutch which I had replaced only to discover that the rubbing sound did not go away. I assumed it wasn't a bearing because it went away when the rpm's picked up. After a little digging on these forums I have learned that my assumptions were wrong. First question, why are the os bearings priced so much higher than the boca bearings. And is there a significant quality difference. Second, how long will these bearings last rattling like this before they turn into shrapnel? I've been running mine like this for a few months. I fired it up last night and it runs fine but lately I noticed that the idle is inconsistent. Hopefully I haven't permanately damaged anything.

Don't fool with ceramic. The Hyper uses bearings, some particular engines more than others. Resign yourself to replace them now and then. FWIW I've had a lot less bearing issues since I've switched to Rotor Rage
