I still need a engine for my nexus and i was thinking either os or thunder tiger i know os is better but the tiger is cheaper. Is it not worth it to get a tiger? should i just save up to get an os? I've heard tigers take a long time to break in.

Ok, i've heard of some inflight engine failures while hovering with the TT36, but as you said i guess it depends if your lucky or not. I will see if my LHS has the TT36 then i'll check it out. Thanks.

A buddy just ditched a TT 36 in favor of an OS 32 SX for his Sceadu. He broke the TT 36 in very carefully on the bench, and for the first gallon or so it worked fine in the machine.
Then, the old mixture gremlin showed up. We tried everything, to no avail. This was one of those $50 HeliProz specials, where they pulled the TT 36 out of a Raptor ARF and replaced it with an OS 32, then sold the engine for a pittance. What a deal, he thought. Now he has a $50 paperweight.
FWIW, this guy has a Raptor with a first-generation TT 36 in it that runs fine, so he's no stranger to the engine. There is just something in the design or manufacturing process of this engine that isn't right. Too many folks, who have excellent results with other engines, are having trouble with it to say "It's just newbies who don't know what they are doing."
Try one at your peril.
