Looks very nice. What kind of paint did you use on it? Also, did you clear coat it or not? I think id like to do something similar to mine. Looks much better than the stickers on there now.

You are a master, your buddy shouldn't fly with it! Maybe he should buy something like this to protect the canopy against hangar rash:

PPG Deltron DBC basecoat, a modified PPG Harlequin color shift on the canopy area, all cleared with PPG DC3000.
As for the heli, don't know. Just handed a body to paint.
