trex 600 running gear advice
im looking for a decent budget minded motor and gyro for my trex600. i plan on getting a castle phoenix 120hv speed control. i dont know much about 600 size helis other than i was sick of my axe cp and blade 400 and wanted something BIGGER! i dont plan on any inverted flight or crazy acrobatics, just some sport flying with friends. any recommendations on running gear would be greatly appreciated. so far all my helis have been bought RTF so this is my first bird that needs outfitted. thanks for any and all help

RE: trex 600 running gear advice
I have a motor like this for my 500 (only a 500 size motor) [link=http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__11143__Turnigy_T600_Brushless_Outrunner_for_600_ Heli_880kv_.html]Turnigy T600 Brushless Outrunner[/link]. Hobby king also has very good prices on batteries.
The Futaba 502 is a great gyro like Barracuda suggests.
I've had good luck with [link=http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/61_100_2167_2169/products_id/33351/n/Hyperion-Atlas-DS20X-SMD-Fully-Programmable-Digital-Servo]Hyperion-Atlas-DS20X-SMD[/link] for cyclic and [link=http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/61_100_2167_2169/products_id/183031/n/Hyperion-Atlas-DS20x-GCD-Fully-Programmable-Digital-Tail-Servo] Hyperion-Atlas-DS20x-GCD[/link] on the tail.

are the hobby king motors any good? also as i stated before i plan on using a castle phoenix hv 120 esc, what should i be looking at as far as kv of the motor goes and also how many cells? i figured low kv and high voltage but all my brushless experience has been with 6s or less. im just trying to make this as painless as possible lol, sorry for all the questions

this esc

this radio

im still trying to decide on gyro/ servos.
im not sure what sort of cell count to go with to get the necessary rpm using this motor and keeping the esc in a safe range

The ESC is good.
The radio will get you by but if you want to move to nitro you're going to want a 7 channel.

i have 100% no aspirations to move to nitro, i used to run nitro trucks and then after building my brushless gorillamaxx i new i would never deal with nitro fuel again.
i like the simplicity that electric offers. i dont miss tuning motors, the smell, the oily mess or the noise.
any thoughts on the motor and what number of cells i should get as far as a battery goes?
