I just got my hirobo X-spec and am about to put it together. I got the .91 O.S. SX engine (non competition one) and don't know which hatori muffler to put in it. is 988 any good? which ones do you have on your bird? thanks. Dave

thanks for replying again. what are your thoughts of the muscle pipe 2 by Curtis youngblood. he says that his muffler makes .3hp more than the sb16. what are your thoughts?

My flying buddy uses the MP2 on his Fury, and its awesome. I would highly recommend the MP2. I think it does develop more Hp than the Hatori. Personally, I just think the MP2 is kinda ugly, but it really works sweet. But either will work fine for your application.

well, I'll be using the supplied gear ratio for the .90s engines...I think it's 7.15 or something like that. what do most ppl use at the flying field? the hatori or the mp2? most of the ppl where I fly run the mp2.

If your buddies are using that, then maybe you should go that route. It may be easier for you to get it tuned. My flying buddy is running a MP2 on his YS80, and another that has the SB16 Hatori, both run great. I really dont think you can make a bad choice, the MP2 certainly costs less.

SB-16 If it is good enough for Todd Bennett it is good enough for me.
Works AWESOME on my YS80 equipped R61. I crash to much to use a 1 piece muffler. Don't want to have to replace the engine case which DOES happen using a 1 piece.
