Just my opinion, but before I wouldn't spend a dime on a coaxial heli...I'd put that money into a decent SIM (Clear View is what I use and is only 40 USDollars) and buy either an mSR or actually would skip the FP and go with an mCPX. If I knew then what I know now I would definitely go with SIM+mCPX and forget everything else till I could fly the blades off the mCPX, then you can fly just about anything.

I only suggested the mSR because it is cheaper than an mCPX and "could" be learned to fly without a SIM. NOTE: Crashes will be inevitable and the Blade heli parts are available everywhere...even at most LHS. However, if the budget could be expanded to about 280 bucks...he could get Clear View SIM, a GWS SIM Cable and an mCPX RTF. This, IMO is the cheapest way to get into RC helis and own a product that has a great support market around it. Sure there are cheaper helis...but why spend less initially with an unknown heli that may or may not have spare parts available. Because everyone that flys helicopters know...its not IF, but WHENyou need spare parts.
