How do you guys deal with your wife and buying equipment? I just bought my first piece of RC equipment since I have been married (and I think it came with something wrong with the electronics... its not working at the moment). I have not herd the end of it. First of all I had to bring it up like 30 times and now she uses it agents me all the time. Once I brought up how she just spent 200+ on a mixer and I buy her a new dress bi-monthly and she said I benefit from those.

If your wife is acting like that you're probably doomed.

Some of my friends just hide cash and give it to me and I order their stuff, then it just ends up in their shops. Pretty funny! Sure is cool sometimes to be single, then sometimes not!

I give my paycheck to my SO and she gives me an allowance.

So the deal here is that she gets all my money and I can do whatever I want with my allowance.

That way she doesn't have to stress out on bills getting paid or money for groceries, etc.

It is nice being single. I have been divorced for 17 yrs now.
I lost my first wife cause i was working 2 jobs just to keep
her happy with diamond rings and golden things. Well I GOT
TIRED OF THAT SH$T AFTER 6.5 YRS and quite my second job
and she divorced me. BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPEN TO
ME. The only person that gets my paycheck IS ME.

As far as dealing with your wife. Do the best you can do and if
you get tired of it. DIVORCE HER AND DONT GET MARRIED AGAIN.

Default Budget

I hate it, but the only way I could keep from having arguments with my wife about every R/C purchase I made was to agree to a budget. We give ourselves $100 a month to do with as we please... no questions asked. We actually set up 'rainy day' accounts at the credit union and automatically deposit money out of our paychecks.

In the long run, it isn't too bad. The problem is trying to build new birds though. I've been saving all year (trying not to spend too much) to try and get that Raptor 50 V2 I've had my eye on...

My wife argued like billy-o about all my RC purchases, and my all my other hobies for that matter - motor bikes etc. So after meeting a more 'agreable' woman at my local hobby shop, I did a trade. Its great, no more nagging old boot and a budget that only stops at paying the bills!

Divorce is a marvelous invention! - followed closely by RC toys and Ducati's.

Financial Disclosure rules of RC:

Never bring a sales receipt into the house ( I usually burn them on the way home). If you buy online- delete the confirmation email immediately. EVERY model or heli cost $99.00. Every engine cost $49.00. EVERY accessory cost $20.00.

Follow these and have a happy co-existence.

Then again- Lynx is probably right.

As long as the bills get paid, I don't she why she's complaining. My first wife never let me buy squat, caught her cheating, divorced her. Got married again, yes, I know again? Luckily I thought this marriage through, and we like each other "the way we are". We don't try to "change" each other, and she is Very supportive of my hobbies. So I guess I got lucky the second time around. Anyway, if the bills & rent/mortage gets paid every month, and she still complains, then I feel very sorry for you If you dumped this hobby & went for something else I bet she would still complain (speculation, don't know you or your wife). This may sound "silly" but its true. If you BOTH truly love each other you'll get by the hurdle. Believe me even though my current wife is FANTASTIC, we still have our problems to overcome. In any case I wish you both the best & best of luck with the "situation".
Joe
PS Are you newlyweds? If so nip it in the bud NOW. I wasted 10 years of my life with a B1tch. I'm not saying get divorced, try to work it out. If you can't work it out then there's always that option.

Default The wife?

As long as I tell her everything costs $80.00 she's good. But I could have paid for the family vacation 5 times over by now.

Default RE: Me

My wife told me either the models had to go or she would. I asked where she wanted the bus ticket to take her. I bet you can guess the outcome<g>.
