Default Problem with Align governor

I just bought a align q600 governor. Put in the magnets, north up on one south on the other. Hit the program button all went well according to the book with it.
My setup is lipo with a align bt6 voltage reg, voltage monitor and on board glow ignitor, (love this setup), align ds615's on the head, futaba 401 and matching servo, and a cheap ass jr nes-547 analog on the throttle. (which I have changed to a digital coreless futaba) but have not yet tested this.
The other servo worked fine until I added the governor.

Setup was in the gear channel on my JR 9303, went and turned on the governor function on gear channel it the model setup menu, then went to the governor menu, set normal to 0, idle up to 70 and idle up 2 to 80.
This is just guessing with no idea. Actually got almost perfect with the head speed.

Now here is the problem, at random intervals the thing freaks out, I'll be at hover at idle up 1, and the damn thing will go wide open, seems like 1800 rpm to 2500 at a snap of your fingers, then right back.
It does this in normal mode also, which I thought if the gov setting in the radio was set to 0 for normal should turn off the damn thing and rely on your throttle curve.

Any ideas other than a bad governor?

How much clearance do you have between the magnet and the sensor? I have a couple of these gov on my heli's and they work well for me so it might be something simple.

1\4 inch I'd say, I can put the magent under the sensor, flip, peck and hit the thing the light stays off like it should.
Maybe just that old servo, won't know for a few days it's gonna rain.
Thanks

1/4" might be to far. I know on mine it almost touches. I usually put it so it touches then lift it ever so slightly and spin the bell or fan by hand to make sure it doesn't touch. If you can't get it any closer you might have to slot the bracket a bit so you can get it closer.

I had to make the bracket, the aligh had no way to mount to the raptor 90 I could see. So I copied the GV-1 bracket with a broken piece of carbon from a previous hard landing. I did slot the carbon so I could move it up and down.
I'll move it on up then and try that. I haven't had a chance to test the new coreless servo for the throttle, been raining.

Thanks
Brian
