I am about to get back into heli's,nothing serious,just like the alternative to fixed wing.
My history is -I havent flown choppers for about 5 years,at that time I had moved up to a x-cell 60 xl pro graghite, but I flew it very little ,as I couldnt get the purchase price out of my head.
I started with a shuttle zxx,then went to nexus 30(not real fond of kyosho products), then gph 46,then xcell.
I can fly forward,stall turns,hover nose in,do rolls,loops,havent tried any of the 3d stuff,and dont know if I ever will, basicly fly it like a plane.
Ok heres my question of you heli pro's-
I have narrowed it down to the Hirobo scadue 50 evelution (SP), or rappy 50 v2, I like the size ,price and look of both machines,and I am just looking for a macine to satisfy that heli itch that wont go away.

I think it will come down to you deciding which one you like better. Although I haven't owned either I did have a Raptor 30 and had good luck with it. I have seen both the Raptor 50 and the EVO 50 fly and both fly well. I have read posts from pilots that own both and some say that the EVO is smoother. Parts replacement is about the same, so that won't be a factor. I will be building the EVO this winter to go with my X-Cell 60 CT. Manly because I liked how it looked and want something different. For about the same reason as you I felt that I learned more on the smaller ones because it is a lot cheaper to fix in case of a crash. Although, I will keep the X-Cell. Have had three Rapter 30's V2 and one Raptor 50 V2 and i learned to do backward loops and flips and low loop's and really like them.I have Two Fury Extreme's and one Vigor CS and as i do like them the rappy's fly great and cost less to fix when you are learning. Tim.

I have been flying helis for over 18 years, and have owned and flown most everything out there. The 50 size helis that i found to be the big surprise where those from Century.
May I suggest that you take a serious look at the Century Raven 50 or Falcon SEv2.
I have found them to be mini-XCell SE in flight characteristics and even more dependable (much better clutch and power system). Bearings everywhere, torque tube t/r drive, great rotor head (no flutter issues) and the XL-Pro type of tail rotor with 2 radial and one thrust bearing in each blade grip, full metal swashplate etc.etc. These things just seem to fly forever and never develop much play in any control system. With a 50, the power to weight is awesome and the disc loading with the stock 600mmm Graphite blades that they come with make it auto like a very lightly loaded 60.
Do yourself a favour and check out what owners are saying about them in the Century Forum area of RunRyder....available by scrolling down the menu on the left side of their mainpage. Check out what owners of other models you are interested in have to say in the other brand specific froms there on RR. I am sure, like me, you will find the Raven or Falcon to be very impressive and issue free.
