I have been having trouble with the 3mm cap head bolt which holds the main rotor head to the main shaft shearing off.
This has happened 3 times now with rather server consequences.
I was wondering if this is a known problem with the Quick 30 Pro and if you have a fix for this, or an idea as to why they are breaking.
I myself have been thinking of installing a 4mm cap head bolt which would be 1.8 times stronger but this would also weaken the main shaft so it is a catch 22 situation.
I have been replacing the cap head bolt every couple of weeks now and it has still caught me out.
I am also using a cap head bolt that has no threaded section running through the main shaft.
My model spec’s are as follows: -
Quick 30 Pro Metal
OS .46 motor
580mm carbon Blades
Hard rubber dampers in the head
1700 rpm head speed & Futaba governor
I have no vibration that I can see and the model flies very well with the exception of being very pitchy.
Looking forward to your reply
